AbracaDABra - multiplatform SDR for RTL-SDR USB sticks
Re: AbracaDABra - multiplatform SDR for RTL-SDR USB sticks
Thanks for sharing the files!
FYI: SNR is not comparable with DAB Player, it is just an indication, it depends how it is calculated and so far, I have not found any standard way for SNR estimation.

Re: AbracaDABra - multiplatform SDR for RTL-SDR USB sticks
Seems to me that a strong neighbor channel causes the problem. Both the 7C and 9A have one as can be seen in QIRX:
Try to choose a smaller Bandwidth for AbracaDABra (as far as I know this must be done in the AbracaDABra.ini settings):
Re: AbracaDABra - multiplatform SDR for RTL-SDR USB sticks
HF-Hase's opinion seconded.
qirx is only able to sync the files when its GUI filter has been set. It is probably a filter issue, not an issue of sensitivity.

This is actually second time I see problem with selectivity. On the other problem it was reported that setting bandwidth to 1400000 helped to resolve the problem. For me it seems to be too narrow but you can try.

Re: AbracaDABra - multiplatform SDR for RTL-SDR USB sticks
I tested local 6D against 7A.
Setting bandwidth to 1530000 worked also best for me in the moment.

Re: AbracaDABra - multiplatform SDR for RTL-SDR USB sticks
Hi,
I just made some tests with my RTL-SDR-V3-Stick and found that the Abra bandwidth setting is not correct:
"0" or any other number >1700000 results in a true bandwidth of 2.2 MHz, a number <1700000 gives 1.8 MHz. No other settings seem to be possible.
BTW: the R820T bandwidth can be programmed in steps of less than 2%
A scan with 2.2 MHz found 11 ensembles, 1.8 MHz gave 12, and a scan in rtl_tcp mode with 1.5 MHz gave 15!

Re: AbracaDABra - multiplatform SDR for RTL-SDR USB sticks
The application just passes the BW value from INI file to the driver. I cannot influence whether the driver sets it correctly or not

Re: AbracaDABra - multiplatform SDR for RTL-SDR USB sticks
Possibly it would be usefull to set the default bandwidth value to 1,5 MHz.
Than the most ensembles could be found.

Re: AbracaDABra - multiplatform SDR for RTL-SDR USB sticks
I am afraid that too narrow bandwidth could cause sensitivity degradation. I plan to implement digital filter that could help in combination with reasonably narrow frontend filter.

Re: AbracaDABra - multiplatform SDR for RTL-SDR USB sticks
I have got an information that some people are trying to run AbracaDABra with Airspy HF+ Discovery.
To make it clear, Airspy HF+ devices do not work due to limited bandwidth! Only Airspy Mini and R2 are supported.
I have tested Airspy Mini, I do not have R2 but it should work too.

Seen on my first tests.
On poor fading signal the software get closed.
