Very interesting. How does Aurora propagation sound? Are the signals more constant than Sporadic E regarding fading? And how long can you observe an Aurora signal, until it fades out? I really have no idea about this.

I heard, that Aurora signals are usually very distorted and not clear, is this true?

The signals can be very distorted but this one wasn't too bad. They sometimes sound like they are off frequency too.

This one lasted for about 2 minutes and then faded. Unfortunately I was not able to record it as it caught me by surprise.

Bei mir hatte es stets Skandinavien hoch gerissen, zumeist Schweden und die Entfernungen lagen um oder knapp über 1000 km. Die lang anhaltende Stabilität des Empfangs, wie ihn das Video dokumentiert, hatte ich dabei nicht. Richtig gut verständlich waren die Signale meist bis zu 10 Sekunden. Hörbar - und damit mit Internetstreams zu vergleichen - durchaus über Minuten.

Klanglich ähnlich, also häufig ziemlich verzerrt, sind Empfänge via Meteor-Scatter. Hier werden tatsächlich manchmal eindrucksvolle Signalpegel erreicht, die Empfangsdauer geht aber von ein paar einstelligen Sekunden bis zumeist nicht länger als 10 bis 15 Sekunden.
