25.08.2019 Airspy Discovery Band 2 Bandscan
A quick bandscan using my new Airspy Discovery. This was made just as tropospheric conditions to Spain were starting to drop off. For the purposes of this video I didn't adjust the bandwidth or use SDR#'s aysmmetric filters, which make a huge difference.
The Discovery is really excellent for finding weak signals on adjacent channels to local transmitters. Beaming 200°.

Re: 25.08.2019 Airspy Discovery Band 2 Bandscan
Hi Ruud, as I said it's when a combination of reducing the BW and asymmetric filters the sensitivity and selectivity of the Discovery outperforms my other SDRs. When I have the time I'll make a video showing this. One of the main reasons for today's video was to highlight what a packed band I have here when conditions are up.FMDABDX hat geschrieben: ↑So 25. Re: 25.08.2019 Airspy Discovery Band 2 Bandscan
I forgot to mention. The Discovery is the only SDR I have which doesn't overload badly when beaming 95-120°, the direction of a local Band 2/TV mast approximately 5.5 km away. I am using my masthead amp with no inline attenuation and I get zero images/spurii.MikeF hat geschrieben: ↑So 25. Re: 25.08.2019 Airspy Discovery Band 2 Bandscan
Great demonstration, Mike! I have the "original" Airspy HF+ and it's already a superb performer on FM. I wonder how big the difference is between these two.

Mike,
You wrote about a packed band now i understand.
A packed band is what I have normal without propagation, with dx it is a mess here!
