Habe im Skywaves Forum aus folgenden sehr interessante Meldungen entnommen das in den letzten Tagen vereinzelte long distance Sporadic E aus den Azoren gemeldet wurden. Vermutlich sogar eine Station aus Kanada auf 107.5 !

I was doing a brief spot of Band II DXing earlier with my 3 element
rooftop vertical antenna when I noticed that Juice 107.6 appeared to
suffering from co-channel interference.
I thought it odd as my aerial had been rotated to an WNW direction
(from my mid-cheshire location), roughly towards Wirral/North Wales.
Nevertheless, I flicked the RX into IF narrow-band mode and moved up
100kHz to 107.7 thinking that it may be The Wolf (even though wrong
direction). I received nothing, so dropped down to 107.5.
I then immediately heard a North American female presenter
announcing something to the sound of '...that's now at number six on
our chart' and proceeded to talk regarding the recording of the
song, but did not mention the title or name. I'm generally good with
accents and she sounded Canadian to me. But within seconds it faded
out. I listened further and it re-appeared for a second or two but
was gone again. That was 30 minutes ago (around 8.25pm) and it
hasn't come back since.
The RDS and stereo indicator light-up briefly during my experience,
but it was not long enough for RDS to register a name. I note that
there are no tropo conditions at the moment and am wondering if it
may have been Irish. It can't be Canada, can it??

The best station i received during the last few days was a station called
Radio Atlantida on 98.5, which after some investigation and a quick check
down on 97.9 for antena 1 which i could also hear at times, I came to the
conclusion that radio atlantida was from the azores.

without wishing to completely poo poo the notion of a
winter reception of North America on FM - what
conditions might have been around in the last day or
two to support a transatlantic opening?. Were there
any reports of an opening at 6 metres or above?.
Was there any sign of a tropo opening?.
Meteor scatter seems unlikely as the reported
reception noted fading.

jo, ich hatte neulich auch ganz kurz auf 87,6 / 88,5 und 88,8 Sporadic oder Aurorascatter drin

Hier gehts aber um DX zwei Hausnummern grösser: potentieller Transatlantik-Empfang. Ist übrigens nicht das erste mal, daß ein solcher beobachtet wurde (ganz sicher war man sich dabei allerdings nie).
Es wäre jetzt mal interessant zu erfahren, via welche Ausbreitungsarten denn Transatlantik-Empfang möglich ist: Es, Tropo, Aurora...?

Nicht ganz. Es gab doch mal im Sommer 2003 die spektakuläre sporadic-e Bandöffnung nach Amerika.

David, of Cumnock, Ayrshire, Scotland heard CBTB Baie Verte NF. Take a listen on his website at http://www.geocities.com/tvdxrools/index.htm. .....click on Audio.
Paul, from the Northern Ireland county of Fermanagh, heard CBTB and a whole lot more. WHCF Bangor 88.5 was in with great signals. And he's just nailed down a couple stations he heard on 97.5..they are WFRY Watertown NYand WOKQ Dover NH! Give a listen!
In his own words:
The first signs of something happening were the plots on the 6 metre contact loggers online which showed a wide open path across the pond around 17:30utc. Then all the TV carriers and some audio started rolling in. But then around 18:10 there were brief blasts of North American speech on 88.5 interspersed amongst the huge European opening which was in full swing. I just
didn't believe my ears. A station came up with a reference to New York and then talk about comedy. (I thought it must be AFN Europe) Then there was a french language station on 88.5 for ages - maybe 20 minutes and very strong which was giving hints at its source being outside Europe but I didn't want to get too excited - and then while on the phone to David Hamilton in Scotland the yl dj said "Radio Canada" and I couldn't believe my ears.
Next was light music on 88.5 coming up to 1900 followed by a full ID on the hour from WHCF Bangor, Maine. And that was it --no more doubts. I was literally in a state of shock. The distance from my QTH to Bangor Maine is 2756 miles. And I am confident that other stations from along the Eastern seaboard were coming in but the open frequencies like 95.9 sounded like soup, with a number of stations bubbling all over each other.
Here's the final log for what made it through:
88.5 1815 CAN CBAF Moncton NB yl with "Radio Canada" id talk about Brazilian music in FF
88.5 1815 CAN CBVG Gaspe QC CBC English, comedy show, mixing with CBAF. Gaspe just North from NB. Later very
good at 1959
88.5 1900 USA WHCF Bangor ME id on top of hour and news. Fair to good at times. Later strong Gospel music.
88.7 1910 ? N. American Station, country, with Mark Knopfler country song not RTE or Radio2. Strong but brief.
92.9 1930 CAN CKLE Bathurst NB ads, frequent id's very very strong. Still there at 2000 and after.
92.9 2020 CAN CBTR Roddickton NL CBC fisheries prog- brief burst of signal giving number in "St. Johns area".
95.9 1952 ? Two North American Stations here One Contemporary Rock other Country fighting it out.
97.1 2005 CAN CBTB Baie Vert, NL fisheries programme, received on 97.05 due to local QRM. David Hamilton
also received this.
97.5 2010 CAN? VOCM St. Johns NL presumed Rock music station, heard at same time as 97.1 Baie Verte.
99.3 2015 CAN CBV6 la Malbaie QC? three Quebec stations listed but this one close to Northern NB which seemed centre of opening. In FF audible on 99.35 battling with local Lyric FM.
