Any advice?
You might need to use the Astrometa settings tool to switch the stick from DVB-T2 to DAB mode.
Download the tool from here. Unzip and start the AMDVBT2Test.exe, wait for the selection to show up and then change it to "FM/DAB". Now you should be able to start the DAB Player. Note that you will need to do this everytime you want to use the DAB Player - even after just closing and re-opening DAB Player. It should work with the stock drivers without any additional modifications or installations. I don't know if there is any better way to avoid the need for changing to DAB mode explicitely each time. This is not my primary stick for DAB and probably the reason why it's just laying in a drawer right now.
Unfortunately I'm not able to use DAB Player neither by using AMDVBT2Test.exe
I've opened my stick: just for knowledge, my one has demodulator Sony CXD2837ER.
Is there any other error than the DAB stick not found message?
In my case, I get an exception before the not found message indicating to me that I have to switch the mode to DAB again. I don't use this stick regularly but I had the same driver version as you.
Dab player not working with lastes driver for Astrometa (AMDVBT2_Setup64_191226)
With older driver (AMDVBT2 BDA Driver 170427), first run claims that the tuner from realtek has not been connected, second run dab player work well. http://www.astrometa.com.tw/integrated_en.html
I think I have 2018 version becouse Linux show Sony chipset, but in a 2014 package (USB\VID_15F4&PID_0131&MI_00) https://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Astrometa_DVB-T2
You are right. The 191226 driver package does not work. The driver files (AMDVBT2BDA.sys, AMDVBT2USB.sys) have the same version number as in the 170427 driver package but are of different size. The Realtek DLLs are missing from the new package as well. I was fooled by the driver version being same but actually had the older versions (170427) installed. So simply use the old driver and start DAB Player twice.
