AbracaDABra - multiplatform DAB SDR for RTL-SDR USB sticks and other devices

The problems I mentioned with the SNR problems of the NDR were obviously solved by updating the rtl_tcp software of "old dab". It can be found here and must be complied and installed like described there.

I am running a Raspberry Pi 4 with that OS
6.12.47+rpt-rpi-v8 #1 SMP PREEMPT Debian 1:6.12.47-1+rpt1~bookworm (2025-09-16) aarch64 GNU/Linux

Now Abracadabra runs fine.

Nearly all other rtl-tcp builds do not really work with DAB+, the SNR is pretty low.
With this "old dab" build the SNR is the same as if I connect my dongle directly via USB to my Win 11 PC where Abracadabra runs. Even in case of Abracadabra and Qirx.

Prebuilt binaries are delivered with driver from old-dab because this driver has the best performance.

AbracaDABra kann EPG Daten anzeigen. Funktioniert auch sehr gut.

Gibt es Pläne TPEG, also Verkehrsdaten auszulesen?

There is a feature request on GitHub https://github.com/KejPi/AbracaDABra/issues/220
Currently I have no plans for adding TPEG decoder because first of all, it does not seem to be used widely, second I have no test streams with TPEG and last but not least, I do not think this feature has any added value for application.

ich habe mir auf mein altes Thinkpad Linux Mint drauf gemacht.
Habe mir abracaDABra gezogen, aber bekomme das Programm nicht gestartet/geöffnet.
Wer kann mir helfen?

Cool, habe die gleiche Konstellation aus Mint und ThinkPad.

Ich nehme an, du hast es nicht gebaut, sondern nimmst das AppImage. Und ich nehme weiter an, du machst einen Doppelklick statt es im Terminal zu öffnen. Denn dann hättest du wohl eine aussagekräftige Fehlermeldung bekommen.

Offenbar fehlt die libfuse2, sie kann aber auch libfuse2t64 heißen.

Da kommt dann: Die Datei wurde keinem bekannten programm zugeordnet.
Kenne mich aber auch null aus, sorry

2. Open terminal application, navigate to location of downloaded file and make the file executable:

chmod +x AbracaDABra-v3.3.1-x86_64.AppImage

3. Run the file:

./AbracaDABra-v3.3.1-x86_64.AppImage

If it does not run, please share the output printed in the terminal.

Aber ich habe ein USB Problem. Der Stick läuft nicht auf allen Buchsen. Mal schauen was da los ist.

AbracaDABra 3.3.2 has been released

Changes from 3.3.1:

• fix: oversized small logo (32x32) is ignored (standard violation)
• fix: crash when running on computer without sound card

Note: AppImage for Linux AARCH64 is compatible with 64bit RaspberryPi running Debian 12.
